Pemberley Digital is very excited to announce its recent partnership with Cherrydale Productions to bring you The March Family Letters, a modern-day adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved classic Little Women.

This marks the first time Pemberley Digital has distributed a sister production company’s content. The strong female characters, innovative transmedia storytelling, and modernization of a classic novel make the show a natural fit for the Pemberley family and its audience. Plus, it marks an important landmark in Pemberley Digital’s development, as it looks to foster growth for a new generation of content creators.

As part of the partnership, Pemberley will distribute the series on its main YouTube channel and offer support in the way of personnel and other resources, such as merchandising and various distribution outlets. While the team at Cherrydale Productions maintains creative control of the series, Pemberley Digital will treat the show as one of its own, focusing efforts on expanding the show’s audience and pursuing opportunities on various platforms.

The partnership began when Bernie Su, executive producer of Pemberley Digital, met with Sarah Shelson, Lauren Evans, and Wil Noack (the executive team behind The March Family Letters), at the Toronto Web Festival in May 2014. At that time, he saw a teaser of the show and was instantly taken by the strong foundation of work they had done.

“I thought they were being very smart about it,” he said. “It felt like their series would fit into the Pemberley universe. It was very much in line with our brand, and I loved their passion and enthusiasm. So now we get to expose this series to a larger, very targeted audience while expanding the Pemberley Digital slate. It’s a win for everyone.”

The March Family Letters launched on December 25th, 2014. New episodes air Tuesdays and Fridays at 9am PT on Pemberley Digital’s channel, and ancillary content can be found on The March Family Letters‘ channel.

About Cherrydale Productions:

Cherrydale Productions is a Toronto-based production company that specializes in Transmedia/Social Media driven web series. Founded by Sarah Shelson, Wil Noack and Lauren Evans; Cherrydale is a small group of young professionals with a passion for creating engaging and entertaining programming for the web. In its first year as a company Cherrydale has been awarded funding from the Independent Production Fund (a funding division of Bell Media) out of a pool of 188 applicants across Canada to create The March Family Letters.  As a team composed primarily of Ryerson University’s School of Media alumni and current students they carry out their operations at the ‘Transmedia Zone’ – a collaborative cross-disciplinary space at Ryerson University that incubates and supports innovative projects on the future of content and storytelling. Cherrydale’s flagship series – The March Family Letters is a vibrant, fun, and dynamic retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s Classic novel Little Women whose valuable life lessons still resonate in today’s modern world. Series creator Sarah Shelson had the idea to write a vlog adaptation of Little Women when she was entrenched in the fandom surrounding Pemberley Digital’s Lizzie Bennet Diaries. It only makes sense that the two companies should come together to help bring this series to life.
