Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Matt initially aspired to become a filmmaker. It was not until his time at Ithaca College, where he studied communications and theater, that he discovered a passion for acting. Trusting that impulse, he moved to New York and continued to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse, Stetson Studio, and the William Esper Studio. From there, he began to work in independent theater and in regional theater, most notably as Hassan in the stage adaptation of the novel The Kite Runner (Actors Theatre of Louisville/Cleveland Play House). Matt also was fortunate to find work in commercials and print, including spots for VH1, McDonald’s, and Nintendo and campaigns for Puma and The Meth Project.
Now based in Los Angeles, Matt is enjoying the space, the sun, and the waves. His television credits include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Good Luck Charlie,” and “Bunheads.”
