Attention all Welcome to Sanditon fans! Did you know Lenne Klingaman, who played the ice cream maven Clara Breton in the LBD spinoff webseries, could sing, too? (Who misses her recipes? I know we do!) She’s hoping you’ll help fund her debut album, “The Heart is a Hunter,” on Kickstarter!

Here’s the background on the album, and how you can help, from Lenne herself:

“In 2014, my father wrote me a song. He wrote it for me when I was going through a tough transition in my life and he nailed it. It’s about the agony and ecstasy of love, and how the Heart is the compass and the comfort for that pain and growth. And even when you might not want to listen, she will guide you through the storm. And sometimes she will take you unwillingly, but you will reach the shore. The song is titled “The Heart is the Hunter.” It brought the whole album together. The spirit of the song is my compass for the project. Every decision comes back to it. And it only seemed right to name the album after it.

So: The music is recorded. We have laid down all vocal tracks, including some bad ass epic background vocals.  We worked with an incredible drummer, John O’Reilly Jr., who has worked with fun., The Format, Jimmy Eat World, Jason Mraz, Schuyler Fisk, Rachael Yamagata, & Mandy Moore.  A fantastic mandolin player, Peter Ostroushko, graced us for a song; you may know him from A Prairie Home Companion, and his work with Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, & Greg Brown. And I am blessed with the keys and producing talents of Mark Christine, as well as with the guitar, bass, songwriting, engineering and producing skills of my long-time music making partner, Steve Klingaman.

We are so excited to be heading to Nashville to mix the album with Neilson Hubbard, who recently mixed a favorite of mine from 2014 by Peter Bradley Adams. He’s also mixed and engineered for The Apache Relay, and a favorite of mine, Garrison Starr. Our Nashville mastering engineer, Jim DeMain of Yes Master Studios, has mastered classic records by Dolly Parton, Robert Plant, Buddy Guy, LeAnn Rimes, Shawn Colvin, Steve Earl, Porter Wagoner, and Delbert McClinton to name just a few. But I need your help to complete the project.”

If you’re interesting in helping out, head over to her Kickstarter campaign! The project is already funded, but she’s trying to reach the stretch goal of $10,000. Pemberley Peeps, unite!
